Stone medicine is probably as old as humanity. Our early ancesters from the Stone Age, used stone and minerals for all they daily life activities; hunting, cooking, making fire, adornments, cutting, scraping, etc... A flint of black Obsidian can be shaper than a scalpel so it is easy to understand that it was used for arrows tip but also as pre-historic surgical tool. As the stones changed their structure while heated by the fire pit our ancesters understood the intrinsict and hidden potential of the stones. They must felt and used the vibrational charges of the crystlas (quartz, tourmaline, topaz are used today in piezoelectric city as transmitters and multiplicators of energy due to their accuracy)
The oldest Chinese medicine Materia Medica, which was compiled from oral traditions before 220 CE, is divided in six sections, each of them subdivided in thrree segments. Segments are as follow: Superior class, Middle class and Inferior class. The first section, ergo the most significant, is dedicated to Jade and Stones, the second to Herbs, the third to Wood, the forth to Animals, the fifth to Fruits and Vegetables and the Sixth to Grains.
Li ShiZhen (1518-1593) in his Compendium of Materia Medica listed 1892 medicinal substances, of them were 355 entries for minerals and 11 entries for essential oils.
Malachite, Howlite and Carnelian needles/points
Therapeutic stones, crystal and minerals may be wore as bracelet, necklace or ear rings; they may be carried in a pouch or direclty taped into the skin (as you would for an "estrogen patch" or a "stop smoking" patch).
They can be ingested as an elixir (the stone is soaked in water overnight) as you would take a vitamin and mineral supplement drink.
They can be used in combination with acupuncture of acupressure to enhance the effect of the treatment, stimulating the point or the meridian.
